After approximately 18 months as Chair of Ilkley Moor, John Stidworthy has decided to step down for personal reasons. At the committee meeting of FoIM on 10 July 2014, the committee unanimously expressed their thanks to John for the work he has done whilst in the Chair.
The committee, also unanimously, asked Owen Wells, the former Chair of FoIM if he would stand in as Chair until the next General meeting of FoIM.
Owen Wells said “We all wish to thank John Stidworthy for his hard work for the Friends. Now that he has stood down, the most important priority is that the vital work of the Friends in caring for Ilkley Moor, should continue without any interruption or disturbance. We are extremely fortunate in the money we have been able to raise to fund work on the Moor, in the work of our excellent Projects Officer Tracy Gray, and in the support we receive from Bradford Countryside Service and the Moor Manager, Richard Perham.”
